01 Sep My Bassrush Massive Arizona Experience
Relentless Beats has presented the perfect precursor to the festival season with Bassrush Massive. Bassrush, the renowned bass music brand, is helping to fuel the next edition of this popular music series with a thunderous lineup of artists. Beginning in the 1990s, the Bassrush brand evolved from its strict drum & bass roots to include dubstep and other bass-oriented genres. Along with exclusive one-off events, Bassrush hosts stages at all major Insomniac festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, EDC Orlando, and Beyond Wonderland. In 2011, the brand expanded beyond California, hosting multi-date national tours for major artists including Skrillex, Excision, and more.
They returned to Arizona for a one-day festival on August 25th, 2018. This year continues in the same bass thumping direction. Featured artists include Zeds Dead, NGHTMRE, G Jones, Space Jesus, Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Hekler, BadKlaat, and Sejo. Rawhide Western Town & Event Center is Arizona’s largest 1880’s western-themed entertainment venue. Located just south of Phoenix, the venue hosts several Relentless Beats events. These events include Goldrush, CRUSH AZ, Decadence, Global Dance Festival, and other major artist concerts.
The venue included a spot for food trucks, vendor village, merch, bar areas, a recharge station, photo op, and lockers. My personal favorite set of the night was NGHTMRE. NGHTMRE played a variety of his releases. My favorite songs performed were “Another Dimension” and “Frontlines” along with classic songs like “Burn Out” and “Feel Your Love.” NGHTMRE has pretty good sound design and track execution. He most definitely makes some great bangers as a solid artist and performer. The one indoor stage that all artists performed on was fully equipped with a massive array of beaming lights, LED panels, and lasers. Overall, the crowd, the energy, and the atmosphere were all surreal at Bassrush Massive!
