28 Sep Is It The End of Major Lazer?
Is it true or false? Unfortunately, as Nelly Furtado said once, “All good things come to an end.” Sadly, in this case, that is Major Lazer. They have spent more than a decade releasing dancehall classics, but Diplo tells it all.
Diplo Confirms Last Major Lazer Album Might Be Their Last
“Next year marks our last album, so we got a lot of stuff in between now and then,” Diplo wrote in a statement today about the fate of Major Lazer.
Diplo had a significant amount of things to say as he opened up to Complex. With his side projects such as Silk City and LSD taking off, Diplo is the king of multi-tasking. Diplo stated in the comment below with Complex:
“Music is so fast nowadays. It’s like we’re in a hip-hop cycle all the time; a new rapper comes out and careers last like two years these days. Everything is so rushed, so we’re just so lucky we can get things out on the radio these days. I think this project has enough energy around it that we’re able to keep being relevant, that’s the essence of being great DJs. We all love music, so we don’t have to get stuck in a certain style.”
They also came out with a mixtape titled Afrobeats recently. The mixtape is centered around their EP Afro-centric before the final album next year. To take a listen, click here.
