After taking some time off in 2014 to hit the studio, Chicago-based bass producer Stratus is back in a big way with his new release “The Collider.” Marking his second single of the year, “The Collider” is a fiery big room and progressive house tour de force that will collide with your inner basehead.

Being something of a science buff, Stratus named this track “The Collider” because he felt it was reminiscent of the Large Hadron Collider, with the transformation from the melody into the anxious buildup and finally the enormous drop, resembling the way particles behave in Cern’s machine.

This versatile young artist touches on a wide variety of genres with his enthralling, bass-laden productions, where complex melodies pave the way for striking, dancefloor-friendly drops. With releases on Ultra Records, OWSLA and Smog under his belt, Stratus has decided to strike out on his own and will be independently releasing more singles and an EP in the coming months.
