If you love EDM and going to Ultra, this documentary is one to check out. “What We Started,” an Abramorama and Bert Marcus production, touches on the difference between producing and performing and Carl Cox and Martin Garrix are the main focus.

Carl Cox is known as an EDM legend and hero. Martin Garrix is a talented young producer who has won the hearts of millions through the progressive house and big room space. Both DJs/producers, who are complete opposites of each other, are going to come together and school us in the documentary, “What We Started.” Some other DJs that make an appearance in the documentary are Seth Troxler, Tiësto, David Guetta, Afrojack, Eric Morillo, and Paul Oakenfield.

The theatrical trailer of the documentary was finally released,  and we are dying to see it on the big screen. The film really touches on what it’s like to be a producer, the difference between a producer and a DJ, and how in-depth the EDM world goes.

Where To Watch “What We Started”

The documentary will be released the day before Ultra on Thursday, March 22. Various dates after the premiere in South Beach include New York City on March 23rd and Los Angeles on March 29th.

I am extremely excited to see the documentary and I am looking forward to learning more about the history of EDM. It’s going to go into great detail about producing and performing. With Ultra coming up, it’s the best way to kick off UMF.  It’s the 20th year anniversary and there’s a lot to look forward to. Stay tuned!
