The concept of coloring outside the lines of genres within EDM has been spreading amongst artists like wildfire. More and more producers are becoming inspired by the idea of creating and playing whatever genre they feel like creating and playing. At the forefront of delivering this concept to fans is GTA, their first Death To Genres EP having a release date of 2015.
This month, GTA brought their ‘Death To Genres’ mentality to life by embarking on a tour they’re calling 3 Night Stand. The idea behind their five-city tour is to give fans a taste of the flexibility and creativity GTA are known for when it comes to music. In each city, GTA will perform three nights in a row, each night consisting of a different theme. The first night will be house/techno, the second will be moombah/world/club, and the final night will be their hallmark rap/trap/bass.
The 3 Night Stand Tour follows the release of their latest EP, Death To Genres Vol. 3, which features artists such as Dillon Francis, Baauer, and Anna Lunoe. Listen to all four bangers on SoundCloud below.
The tour is already underway, so fingers crossed that GTA are stopping in your city! I’m personally beyond stoked for some “dark and heavy” house and techno music on Friday, March 16th, the first night of their 3 Night Stand in Denver, Colorado. Check out their tour schedule and buy tickets on their website here.
