Why Ravers Should Invest in a Hydration Backpack

Do you know why ravers should invest in a hydration backpack? I found out the hard way. Check this out. I thought I knew what to expect at my second rave, so I went all out. I probably did more cardio in that single night than the few years prior. There was one situation that I didn’t anticipate though.

Standing among hundreds of bodies radiating heat like stars, I got to a point where I was about to pass out. I pushed my way through the crowd and made it to the drink stand in the back. Two water bottles and five missed songs later, I felt good enough to jump back into the mix.

Getting dehydrated is an easy problem to run into. It’s easily managed but can cause serious issues if left unchecked. Fortunately, I’ve got a solution to keep you far from the pass out point.

What You Need In a Hydration Backpack

A hydration backpack is a backpack that contains a water reservoir or bottle connected to a drinking tube. They come in a variety of types and sizes for different activities. They allow you to take a drink while on the move with even less effort. For the typical raver, a 2-Liter hydration pack is a cheap and smart investment.

Why You Need a Hydration Backpack

Now that you know what it is, allow me to show you why it’s the superior option:

1) You won’t miss any good songs or incredible visuals to go grab water.

2) Instead of carrying around a bottle, you now have two free hands. You can hoist your totem with one hand, show off your kandi with the other, and take a drink at the same time.

3) Since it is also a backpack, you can keep important supplies safely secured.

4) To fellow ravers cursed with migraines or other pains that require meds, having a hydration pack with a few ibuprofen stuffed in the pockets is extremely convenient.

Fortunately, most festivals are fairly accommodating. Most of the popular ones, like EDC and Electric Zoo, have free water refill stations. So if you do happen to drink through your supply, it’s not dead weight. Stop by a station in between sets and reload. Who doesn’t like free water?!

Other Uses for your Hydration Backpack

Right now, the rave scene in places like the US is at a standstill due to the ongoing battle with COVID-19. If you live in one of these areas, you may not need a hydration pack for a festival anytime soon. However, it’s still a decent investment.

Many have taken to hiking or walking along trails or around the neighborhood. If that fits your description, get a hydration pack now and test it out. Get used to the feel and how to drink from it before you have to rely on it at a music festival.
