Much of our day-to-day music is created by labels instead of artists. Many talented artists, DJs, and bands slip under the radar of common acknowledgment due to major record labels. New emerging acts have to be just as savvy, if not more, with their marketing strategies. However, a new competition hopes to change that.

Unsigned Only is a new competition created by unsigned artists for unsigned artists. Most competitions, such as The Voice and American Idol, focus specifically on pop and soul vocalists. Unsigned Only gives an opportunity to all genres (a breath of fresh air), including EDM, rock, hip-hop, and alternative.

The competition is judged by well-known professionals in the industry. The competition is open internationally and offers a prize of 20,000 dollars, mastering and studio services, and music gear. Most importantly, it is giving unheard of artists a voice and exposure.
