Sony Music and Dubset Partner Up To Monetize Unofficial Remixes

By Khadijah Dunn

Coverage for Dj’s will spread a lot easier with this new Sony partnership as Dubset has partnered with more than 35,000 labels and publishers with this being their first major deal.

Dubset uses proprietary software to find and match mix or remix samples which will then distribute royalties to all of the appropriate rights holders. Using its MixBANK platform and MixSCAN technology, Dubset said they pave the way in “powering distribution and monetization opportunities for content creators and rights holders built on transparency, control, and simplicity, solving a critical problem for the music industry.”

Songs or remixes that could never clear copyright claims because of sampling are now to be published soon from major music streaming websites like Apple Music and Spotify. Comment down below on what you think about this new step in online music monetization.
