Senthil Chidambaram On Dancing Astronaut’s Rise To Success

Tell us your story. What got you into electronic dance music?
Like most people my age, I was turned on to electronic music through acts like Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers. Before I had any real idea what I was listening to, I was completely hooked. From there, I got into early Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, and Paul Oakenfold. The rest is history.
I started listening to dance music around Sophomore year of highschool, back in 2007.
When I entered college, my friends and I bonded over our love of dance music and immersed ourselves in the culture. At the time, it was just a few of us playing new music for each other. Two of my good friends began DJing, and I helped them promote their events at Santa Clara University’s college bar, “The Hut.” Soon after that the festival scene laid its roots in California and the “EDM” wave really took off.
