Okeechobee Music Festival Announces Portal Closed in 2019

There is a haven located beyond the swamps of Florida called Sunshine Grove that is home to Okeechobee. For the last three years, over 100,000 strangers have been able to experience one of Florida’s treasures.

This four-day camping festival truly encompassed the beautiful environment of where water touched the earth. OMF announced this past week that they will not be opening their portal in 2019. They have stated they are looking to return in March of 2020.

Relive OMF 2018 with their after movie recap to get excited for what they have in-store for 2020!

OMF STATEMENT

“Greetings Okeechobeeings,

After much consideration and looking at many different options, we have decided to take a fallow year and not hold our annual Okeechobee Fest in 2019.

For the past three years, we have witnessed 100,000 strangers from all walks of life come together to our home of Sunshine Grove in Okeechobee, Florida, to live, laugh, listen, sing, dance, learn, create, meditate, downward dog, eat & drink, explore, give back, embrace and live OMF’s mantra to Be, Here, Now. Now that’s love.

As we pause for a moment and look back, we are incredibly humbled by the love and spirit you have shown us each and every year at OMF. This tight-knit community of fans, attendees, musicians, artists and staff that we’ve built together truly belongs to everyone. We are happy and grateful to consider each of you our family.

While the OMF portal won’t be opening in 2019, we’re looking to March 2020, and we can’t wait to see you again. Thank you for your love, support, and understanding.

Until we meet again, Team Okeechobee”

ABOUT OKEECHOBEE

With five unique stages all decorated with world-class performing artists, there was enough music to entice anyone’s interest. Not only would you get lost to the music, but you would also find yourself while meditating with strangers.

There were mass meditations being hosted at the main stage, BE, throughout the weekend. Yogis found their center in the fields of Yogachobee. Exploration at OMF went beyond the music.

An immersive art world existed throughout itself. You would’ve discovered recycled art pieces handbuilt with elements foraged from the land, street art, interactive installations, and one-of-a-kind light shows that play in harmony with Mother Earth.

The wonders of OMF also practiced and preached sustainability. OMF’s sustainability is based on the pillars of local stewardship, awareness & social sustainability, and food rescue. They have a mission to reduce plastic and environmental pollution and move towards carbon neutrality.
