ELECTRIC FOREST CHECKLIST AND PACKING LIST

We are 3 weeks away from Electric Forest, and I am BEYOND EXCITED!!

I am a list and research kind of gal, so I thought I’d provide you with a checklist and packing of what you need to prepare for your trip to the forest.

CHECKLIST

  • Travel to and from Forest is secured: flights, driving, renting a car, shuttles, etc. Make sure you have all your confirmations in order.
  • Map and directions to Rothbury and back (in case of phone troubles)
  • You have your Wristband, Parking Pass, and I.D.
  • Your camping or R.V. arrangements
  • Camping Gear
  • Outfits and Clothes
  • Healthy Meals & Drinks

PACKING LIST

CAMP SUPPLIES – INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Your tent and stakes!
  • A tarp or two for any wet weather
  • A rubber mallet to stake down your tent.
  • Canopy to provide shade while relaxing at the campsite
  • Folding chairs and table
  • Decorative tapestries to hang from the side of your shade tent.
  • Spare batteries – If you forget, they are available at the general store!).
  • A battery-powered tent fan
  • Air mattresses, pillows, blankets, and a sleeping pad.
  • Big trash and recycling bags
  • Flag / Flag Pole / Totem to find your camp (make sure it follows the official Totem guidelines)
  • Portable shower and water bag
  • String lights
  • Small Speaker

CAMP SUPPLIES – KITCHEN / FOOD / DRINKS

  • Cooler with ice. Fill your cooler at your last stop on the way in (some of the stores close to the festival sell out, so be prepared for that). The more full your cooler is, the slower the ice will melt. Block ice lasts even longer than chipped! If you run out of ice, your Neighborhood Pod has it for sale.
  • Eating/drinking utensils
  • Reusable containers or bags for your snacks.
  • Cloth or paper towels for clean up.
  • You can bring a small propane or butane stove if you want to cook or heat food. **Coal and gas/fuel cans of any kind are not allowed*

FOOD

You can get food in the campgrounds and inside the venue, but if you are like me and have dietary restrictions or just like to bring food to avoid extra cost, prepare to bring things like pasta, snacks, fruits & veggies, sandwiches, and pre-cooked proteins. Don’t forget the condiments!

DRINKS

I can’t stress this enough, but be sure to drink lots of water! There are filling stations all around the camps for you to refill. Bring your reusable water bottle, hydration packs, and a couple of reusable, non-glass gallon jugs. I also recommend bringing electrolyte packets like Pedialyte, Liquid IV, Gatorade, or Vitamin C to keep your body filled with vital nutrients and minerals.

You must be 21+ to bring in or consume alcohol. If you plan on bringing alcohol, note that no glass or hard liquor is allowed. Only canned beer and boxed wine are allowed, and the limit is 1 case of beer and 1 box of wine per person. You cannot substitute a case of beer for a box of wine or vice-versa.

TOILETRIES

Showers are available for $10 per day, and you’ll need to bring cash and an easy-to-carry toiletry bag for your items.

  • Towel
  • Shower shoes
  • Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Feminine products
  • Toothpaste and toothbrush
  • Contacts and Glasses
  • Gold bond and body glide
  • Body Soap
  • Shaving supplies
  • Lotion
  • Hairbrush, clips, ties, bobby pins, headbands
  • Baby Wipes
  • Emergen-c
  • Tylenol / Pain Medicine

As a veteran raver, I also recommend bringing a couple of rolls of toilet paper for yourself. I have been to many festivals where toilet paper ran out, and I was thankful I brought my own.

  • Earplugs
  • A sleep mask
  • Wet wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Condoms (you know, just in case)
  • Sunscreen and Bug Spray
  • Melatonin
  • Spare Keys
  • Swiss Army Knife
  • Duct Tape
  • Solar Charges / Solar Generator
  • Charging Cables
  • Water Toys and Games to keep you occupied before the music starts
  • A Yoga Mat
  • Jumper Cables
  • A Hammock
  • Flow Toys and/or Gloves
  • Headlamp

NOTE: If you bring prescription medications, they must be in their original bottle with the attached label. I.D. must match the name on the label. Declare to security during any search.

CLOTHING

Weather can range a lot, and there is always a chance of rain. Come prepared for it all.

Like any rave – come as you are! You can be super casual and cute for this festival or go all out. This year I am doing a combination of both and an option for warm weather and cold. For shoes, make sure you have several options. You will also want hats, sunglasses, bandanas, and essential clothing.

  • Socks
  • Clothes to hang out at the campgrounds in
  • Sleeping clothes
  • Bathing Suit if needed
  • Bandanas (these can be wildly handy for many reasons as well as for fashion)
  • Undies and bras
  • Raincoat
