DJ Elle Morgan

I had the privilege to sit down with this young, soon to be superstar in January before she performed a sold out show at The Rave in Milwaukee, WI. DJ Elle Morgan and her father, Chris, sat down with me to answer some questions. It was not long into the interview before I realized I was speaking to a very special young girl. She was able to carry herself in conversation so well that most people might forget they are speaking with a 13 year old, that is, until she talks about how her and her friends love going to the mall and how she can’t wait to get her drivers license.

It was exciting to speak with someone who has so much passion about music, especially at her age, and it has not gone unrecognized. She is friends with Steve Aoki and has had the opportunity to perform in front of a crowd of over 10,000 people at a robotic convention. DJ Elle Morgan has a lot going for her and we should all expect to be listening to her music in the near future.

How did you know you wanted to be a DJ?

Chris: She was born loving the music. We used to play EDM to put her to sleep. We would take her to a club/show when she was just a little girl (we would leave before it got too busy) and she would dance around. You could tell she really enjoyed it. The defining moment was at a Tiesto concert. She fell asleep at the end of the show and, while I was carrying her out, she woke up and asked me if she could be a DJ someday.

Elle: Then I begged them for the equipment for a year and, finally, for my 10th birthday, my parents got it for me. I immediately went up to my room and started practicing…
