Das Energi Festival Brings The Feel Good Vibes

Das Energi

Das Energi, the most incredible electronic music festival to hit Salt Lake City, took place on Saturday, August 15, at The Great Saltair. With three stages,  including a Bass Chamber inside stage, a Temple of Boom outside amphitheater and a Basshive stage on the beach, V2 Presents went above and beyond to bring Utah the largest production it’s ever seen. About 10,000 people came out to witness the massive festival experience and to see EDM favorites such as Kaskade, Flux Pavillion, Morgan Page, Seven Lions, Andy C, Slander and more.

The Das Energi Festival was the event of the year for Utah, if not the event of the decade. Most events in Utah are confined to small, inside venues due to the inconvenient weather the state has most the year. Das Energi however, is the one event where V2 can expand their production outside of the enclosed Saltair venue. This year, they made an extra effort to expand the festival over The Great Salt Lake beach area. This was where the Basshive stage was located. Filled with extravagant art installations, they scheduled a massive group photo session and held activities for people to participate in.

“V2 doesn’t get enough credit for how hard they work to make these shows happen,” said Sarina Brannon, a local raver who often travels out of state for major festivals. “I’m so thankful to be a part of this scene and to experience festivals like this in my home state. Nothing will ever beat these hometown vibes!”

V2 weren’t the only ones to go all out. When it came to outfits, totems and other arts and crafts, the attendees didn’t hold back either. It’s hard to hold back all that energy and excitement when you only get a party like this once a year!
Das Energi was packed with almost every EDM lover in Utah and surrounding states. It was the first time I had ever been to a show in Utah where I wasn’t able to get any cell phone service because of the massive amount of people attending the venue. I ran into a lot of first time festival goers, as well as many people who came out to the event after years of not going to an EDM show.
