Collectiv Present and The Salt Shed announce Green Velvets’ La La Land’ on April 29th!
Joining Chicago-legend Green Velvet is the house music goddess herself, Crystal Waters! Known for her classics ranging from signature debut single that defined the 90s, “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless),” and of course, “100% Pure Love,” Crystal Waters is a staple in the industry and has paved the way for black artists and women in pop and electronic music. She has earned 13 BB #1’s since 1991 and remains one of the most sampled and covered artists. Rolling Stone has included her in their ‘Top 200 dance tracks of all time’. She was also one of the first women who, as the Washington Post recognized, helped “bring house music to the masses.”
She continued her accomplishments by beginning her monthly I Am House podcast in 2020, named after her own label and highlighting various artists within the genre. This year she is releasing new music with house legends Todd Terry, working on her new album, recently taking over SiriusXM Utopia’s channel for Women’s History Month, AND relaunching her skincare line, BoyFace.
