To no surprise, Alexandra Sholler, known to the EDM world as Alison Wonderland, has just been crowned Billboard’s Breakout Artist of the Year. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Alison Wonderland, has respectively earned her seat on the throne as Break Out Artist of the Year. Since the release of her first track, “Get Ready” in 2013 and her break out success that came along with the release of her debut album, Run in 2015 that peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Top 100 Electronic/Dance albums; Alison Wonderland built up a loyal fan base quickly, leaving her fans and electronic dance music listeners alike, impatiently waiting for more.

Alison Wonderland’s first U.S. live performance was back in April of 2015 to promote her debut album, Run, at Coachella. Three years later, Alison Wonderland made music history when she became the highest paid female DJ to play at Coachella. As a successful woman in a male-dominated industry, Alison Wonderland is climbing the charts overseas within the music industry. Having headlined at major music festivals such as Lollapalooza, Spring Awakening, and Ultra; Alison Wonderland is making bangers and taking names. The structure of her setlists speaks volumes when discussing genuine talent.

Following her 23-date, 40,000 tickets selling US tour, the release of her first promotional single, “Happy Place”, was dropped in November of 2017. This song was her first, new solo track in over two years and a fitting curtain-raiser for the release of her most recent album, Awake. The release coincided with a series of sold-out warehouse shows for her Wonderland Scarehouse Project, an outdoor multi-stage festival, consisting of both a massive local and international line up.

Over the course of four months, Alison released three more promotional tracks to endorse her highly anticipated, sophomore album. Following the release of her second promotional single, “Church” in February of 2018 that charted at #54 on ARIA’s Singles Chart, Alison Wonderland left fans eager for more from the electro-pop queen. Two more promotional singles were released in March including her track “No” written to express Alison’s perspective on “fake people”, before the release of her fourth and final promotional track, “High”. After months of suspense, Awake was on shelves and streaming services by the beginning of April in 2018 before respectively taking the #1 spot on Billboard’s’ Top Electronic/Dance Albums. Awake provides listeners with a glimpse of her vision through her looking glass.

Alison Wonderland is taking the music industry by storm and it doesn’t look like she’s planning on slowing down anytime soon.
