Joe Ghost Releases “Let It Go”

Canadian producer Joe Ghost grew up DJing in Toronto nightclubs. After discovering electronic music, he began creating his own songs which gained popularity on the Beatport charts and among EDM enthusiasts. Recently, Joe Ghost teamed up with a five-piece band from Toronto called Mermaids Exist. For his first track of 2018, “Let It Go,” was released February 16th on Thrive Music. The track is also included in his forthcoming LP.

There’s a chance that you have heard of Joe before thanks to his big-room releases in the past. In 2013, his track “Are You Ready” with Hardwell leaped to #1 on the Beatport charts and was featured in the print publication DJ MAG. His monster track “Crank” caught the attention of Tiesto. After signing it to his label, Musical Freedom, it went on to reach #4 on the Beatport charts. Joe Ghost then released “LIBG” on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak label. In addition to his success, he continues to deliver his highly anticipated monthly podcast series 30 Minutes w/ Joe Ghost. The fan-favorite series was featured on the iTunes Whats Hot/ Noteworthy list in 2013. With his festival schedule and his residencies in Toronto and LA, Joe Ghost continues to grow his fan base both in and out of the studio.

In terms of his music, there was a sudden change of style. “I felt as though I’d put myself into a conceptual box that only had enough room for one genre. I’ve stepped out of that box and wanted to make the kind of music that I listen to,” says Joe. “Let It Go” is an emotional tune that according to Ghost, “talks about the struggles of dating, getting close with someone special and that first feeling you get when you know they’re the one.” The live instruments in this track are similar to how real love’s built, keeping the song organic sounding. Listen for yourself!
