Global EDM Community Sends Love To England

By Ella Healy

Over the course of the past two weeks, England was hit with two heartbreaking attacks. One The first incident occurred at an arena in Manchester, and the second near London Bridge. This disaster took several young and innocent lives that should forever be remembered.

The first incident in Manchester incident happened at an Ariana Grande concert. An explosion killed and injured several young and devout fans exiting the venue. Regardless of genre, music is a sanctuary where fans and listeners should always feel safe, and never be fearful of threats. It should give one a sense of love, bliss, friendship, and community and never induce violence.

This past week, a hard rock festival in Germany was shut down due to fear of an attack. This perpetuates thoughts of unsafeness at music events. These feelings should have to never be of worry when attending an event, and hopefully, we will never have to see another incident like this occur in the future.

Through this shattering heartbreak, several artists and DJ’s in the EDM community have spoken out.with caring thoughts to reassure hope to all those in England and around the world.

Ellie Goulding stated, “Incredible work by emergency services. Another senseless attack that still won’t divide us. Love you so much London”

Following her kind words, Scooter Braun posted,  “Words can’t describe how courageous @ArianaGrande has been these past few weeks. So proud of my friend. #OneLoveManchester” when posting the following picture of Grande and himself.

Many others such as Krewella, The Chainsmokers, and Allison Wonderland also responded with caring thoughts to reassure hope to all those in England and around the world.
